HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!

Hey friends and family! It's my first halloween. Mom and dad did not really consult me on my costume choice. I wanted to be Slash (the guitarist from Guns-n-Roses) but since I can't talk yet... I ended up being Baby Bumble Bee Brecht. I'm pretty adorable.

I LOVE my mama!

Pumpkins? What are these? Can I eat them?

Can I eat that one?

Pumpkins are off limits, I guess. But MAN I love to suck these fingers!!!!!

Bzzzz bzzzz bzzz --- Trick or Treat! Bobbing for candy is fun!

I came up with a butterfingers.
I like my own fingers, thank you very much.
I don't know how the real candy tastes, but the wrapper is fantastic!

Pollinate, pollinate, make honey - honey make honey honey - honey!!

How many photos can I be in today?! I've had it! I'm going to eat my play gym!

Going in for the sting.
After the fun at home, we went to a bonfire and party at the neighbors house. I hung out and EVERYONE wanted to hold me because I'm the cutest.

All in all, it was a pretty good first Halloween.

I Miss Grandma

Remember me, Grandma?

It's Elijah.

I miss you today. I'm wearing the cute outfit you gave me for fall, and I miss your pretty smile.Mommy and Daddy and I are going to carve pumpkins today.

But it won't be the same without you and Grandpa.

We're praying for you and missing you and hoping you have a happy halloween, and that you get lots of candy and give it all to me.

Tell Grandpa I'm going to be REALLY scary tomorrow.

(He'll need some prep time to get over how scary I'll look.)

We love you, and can't wait to see you again!

Fun on the Farm!!!

Hi. It's Josh, here. I haven't blogged for a long, long, long, long time since I've been busy reading heavy books with large words and writing papers. Today is Messiah Church's youth Halloween party, and I needed to shave my beard for the costume. I figured as long as I am going THIS wild already, why not blog?

A couple of weeks ago we went to Iowa when both Gail and I had some time off work. We stayed with Elijah's grandparents and had a Fuller Still concert in Monticello, IA (woo woo!). The concert was Graham-less, but we were still well received. Apparently Lutherans don't need drums to have a good time. Who knew?

Elijah would like to tell you a little about his visit...

Hey, friends. Whatz Up? I went to Grandpa and Grandma's house and it ruled!

Grandma got this fancy car-chair-spaceship-mobile thing! I handled it like a pro!

Here I am inventing. Yes, to the untrained eye it may look like I'm just playing, having fun, and looking cute. But no, I'm working on inventing cool stuff. Like a diaper that changes itself, and a remote control to get Mom and Dad to do WHAT I want, WHEN I want!

No, Minnesotan friends, this is not snow, it's just a white blanket. Calm down.
Mom and Grandma thought it would be fun to have a photo shoot. Apparently, rather than being the next Thomas Edison, they have big dreams of me being the next Derek Zoolander. I am pretty adorable!

Too much Cuteness

elijah here again. Remember when I told you about my Uncle Justin and Aunt Nikki's wedding? Well, that same weekend, I also got to stay with my awesome Godparents, Kevin and Abbie and their doggies, Gizmo and Gadget. It was really fun. We read stories, and played together. I also played with the puppies, but they didn't understand that I'm just a kid and can't really walk yet. Gizmo really wanted to play with me, but I just wanted to play with my toys and suck my fingers.

Here's some pictures of us.

This is Abbie reading me stories.

Gizmo is on the left, and Gadget is the one behind me in this picture. We weigh about the same, even though I'm WAY smarter than him, even though he's older than me.

Then I saw this SUPER handsome little man in Abbie's bathroom. He did all the same things I did. I decided he's just a copycat. But I gave him a baby kiss anyway. I'm good at those.

Then it was time for bed. I got to take a bath, and Gizmo and Gadget helped.

Mama said it was too much cuteness for one bathroom.

I have to agree.

I Love New York

Taxi!!!

My Tia Christy lives in New York City. My friend Owen was there this weekend... I was hoping he'd be on "Cash Cab" but he didn't make it. His grandpa was turned into a chess piece instead. An important one... The bishop!! Owen said New York had lots of tall buildings, but I don't believe him. I've never seen any, and I have this awesome onesie to prove how much I know about New York.

Everything.

Well, not really. But I make a good case for myself.
How can you NOT trust a face like this one?

I miss you and love you, Tia Christy!!

First Dance

I went to my first wedding. It was for my Uncle Justin (daddy's brother) and my brand new Aunt Nikki. Mommy said she's not my aunt until the wedding, but now the wedding's done, and I can call her my aunt now. I posed for a billion pictures, but not as many as Uncle Justin and Aunt Nikki that day. Boy, I don't know how they put up with all those bright lights in your eyes all the time. Here's me and my new Aunt and Uncle...

Aren't they a pretty couple?
(I got dressed up too. People say I look real nice in blue.)

Mommy and me had our first dance at my first wedding. I don't know the name of the song, but it was soft and pretty, just like mama. Even though my feet couldn't touch the floor, I still make this stuff look good...

I love mommy.

What I Do

Some of you might be wondering, "hey, what do you do on a regular day, Elijah?"
Well, we're glad you asked.

Observe:Play.

Eat.

Sleep.

That pretty much sums it up.
We have a good time EVERYday.

My Handsome New Sweater

It's Elijah here. I got this SWEET new sweater from mommy's family friend, Linnea. I've only met her a few times, but she seemed like a really nice lady... I didn't know HOW nice until I put this new sweater on! MAN it keeps me warm, and I LOVE feeling this yarn and trying to touch the orange parts on it. Mommy says that Linnea made it all by herself with yarn and needles. I don't get it.
Anyway, don't I look suave?

It makes me want to kick back and relax.

But at the same time, I just want to stand up and show it off to everyone around me! (Especially the BACKside!)

I LOVE to stand up and have fun in my bouncer with my new sweater. I scream and shout really loud (because I'm so happy) and I try to see if mommy is really listening to me, or just faking it. I'm all ready for this thing people call "winter."

Bring it.

There's No Crying In Baseball!!

I'm a little baseball player. That's what my outfit says. And since Tia Christy gave me this super cool baseball that makes fun noises when you play with it, I decided to play a game on the couch with mommy today.BASEBALL!!!! I LOVE IT!

SWING batta, batta, batta.
can you handle dis?

You expect me to hit this thing without a BAT?!?!?!
Okay. It looks pretty fun.

I ALMOST caught my own HIT!!! I'm THAT good.
I have to keep practicing my sliding and diving catches.

I caught another one!

Okay. I've had enough baseball.

Forever.
Give me normal games to play, like this Gigantor Jungle Gym.
