Up, Up, and Away!!!

This is some ancient video footage we found. Elijah is 4 months old now, and this must have been from like two months ago. 50% of his life. As I said, ancient. He used to do this thing where he tried to take off like Superman all the time. Just laying around relaxed, and then... BOOM!!! arms up, dramatic music kicks in and away he flies! Well, his arms went up and it was cute. Observe:

New Friends

Auntie Brittany was FINALLY able to come to visit me this week while daddy was gone on a mission trip to Duluth. Mommy said she was a lot of help, but I don't know why. All we did was play and laugh and smile and poop our pants. Auntie Brittany is pretty much mommy's sister. They did everything together growing up next door to each other. Everyone thought they were sisters, and they get crazy when they're around one another. They laughed and laughed and laughed, especially when I pooped my pants all the time. I think my loud noises made them laugh so much. I'm glad Brittany could come to visit. Here's why:

She read me stories in English and Spanish.

She watched while I showed her all about the new toys I've discovered. She says they're called, "Feet." Boy, that's a funny name for toys!

She chewed on my other chew toys with me. (Don't tell her that she's not as good at drooling as me. I don't want to hurt her self-esteem or anything.)

Then we acted like crazy monkeys together. I even dressed up for the occasion. I made ALL the sound effects, and she made all the faces. We're a pretty good team.

It was a great visit with Auntie Brittany. I'm sad she had to leave. She said she had to see HER mommy in Parachutteses or some place far away. Maybe they'll act like crazy monkeys together too!

Back to the Future

Coming soon to a theater near you:
"Back to the Future, part .5 (the Pre-quel)"
Haven't you heard about the making of this new science fiction adventure comedy? It happens to star my handsome son, Elijah Robert Brecht. I kid you not... he almost was erased from existence while playing air guitar at my senior prom.

Thanks be to God that Josh cut in while I was dancing with extra #12 and kissed me, ensuring our son's future existence. It was incredible. Just then, Elijah's hand came back!

He was so happy to be alive that he ripped a killer air guitar solo to
Johnny Be Good.

It's hard work being a baby movie star.
You have to handle plutonium and drive a DeLorean DMC-12.

Look for him in other Pre-quels like:

"The Godson"
"I'm gonna make him an offer he can't refuse." ~ Baby Don Corleone
bada-BING!

and don't miss him in the new blockbuster Pre-quel...
"Little Lebowski"
"Walter! He peed on my rug!"

The producers loved him so much, they wanted to make the first Pre-quel trilogy in history.
Here's a new still from the second Pre-quel, "Back to the Future, part .25"

Oh no... not again!!! This time it's my FACE!
(In theaters 2015.)

I apologize for the craziness of this blog entry.
We had a lot of new pictures from Grandma's visit, Josh is gone for a week, and I couldn't sleep.

Four Months Old!

I'm 4 months old today! Happy Birthday to me! It's a GREAT day... know why? Grandma and Grandpa Brecht came up for a visit to surprise me! Can you believe that I've grown this big in just 4 months?! I've almost doubled my birthweight, and have found out many new things about the world. Like how to not pee on mommy and daddy when they change me. My new friend Owen is still learning that one.

I had a lot of fun with Grandma on the table today. She made me smile a lot. And I made her smile even more! Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I'm THAT good.

Then, Grandpa took me flying for awhile. It was AWESOME! We had so much fun together. I made him smile a lot too. I was really happy that they came to visit me!

WHAT?! They're leaving tomorrow already? But they just got here!!!
Mommy, can't they stay longer? They make me smile so much!
I guess they have to get moving on their vacation to Michigan to ride their bikes all over the place. Maybe in a few months I can ride my bike with them... I'm growing super fast!

Elijah Wears a Hat!

My parents have been really slacking on this blog, so I took the computer while mom was working and dad was napping. Today was a good day. Dad took me for my first bike ride EVER! He bungie strapped my CAR SEAT into a toddler bike trailer that our neighbors gave us! I also pooped once an hour on average, blowing through all my cloth diaper covers in one day. Jealous???

I am stinkin' cute. Don't believe me? Here's proof.

I really like wearing my hat. It keeps me looking stylish AND without sunburn!

We went to Lakeside, Ohio for a week. It was Fuller Still work for Mom and Dad, but vacation for me!!! Dad took me swimming in the kiddie pool. It was super duper fun! I tried to climb up dad using only his chest hair! I peed in the pool.

We hung our with our friends the Gamelins, Jay, Tia, Abel, Roman, and Jude. They all seem very cool to me. However, I was quite confused by the youngest, Jude. They told me he was a person, but he was so small. I had never seen a person that tiny, so I was very confused as you can see. Our dads held us face to face and we had a smiling contest. You know, where you see how long you can hold a straight face before the other person finally cracks and smiles. Jude won.

A LONG time...

For those of you that check our blog regularly: First of all, thank you for loving our son and keeping up with his antics. Second of all, our apologies for not blogging for a while. There has been a lot of complaining, whining, and threats on our lives coming in the last couple of weeks as I have been slacking.

I was in Juarez, Mexico for a week long mission trip. I was hot, sweaty, dirty, joyful, tired, and awed throughout the week. When I came home on Friday night, this is what I found:

Our good friends Kent and Trish came up from Iowa for a work conference, bringing their daughter Haeley with them! We had a great time together and it was a nice welcome home from my Mexico trip to see them. This was their first time meeting Elijah. Haeley and the drool factory had to check each other out and decide who sits in the bouncer throne!
